Effective Data Management for Public Health
CLASS SESSION: Thursday, August 24, 2017-Friday, December 08, 2017
General Information: This is a video streaming course utilizing Adobe Connect. An orientation session is scheduled for Aug. 28, 11am-Noon. Students may attend the orientation in Wardlaw College room 116, view orientation online via live chat on Adobe Connect and may call in with questions or watch the recording at a later time. Adobe Connect URL will be posted in Blackboard by the instructor prior to the date of orientation. Students viewing the orientation at a later date and for the video streaming site, visit the Web site video.sc.edu; click on the appropriate college/school and then your orientation or class link.
On-Campus Sessions/Orientation Information:
Computer lab sessions meet twice a week on Monday & Wednesday from 10am - 11am in Discovery I room 431. These sessions are not required, but students are strongly encouraged to attend. The lab offers various software packages that are already installed on all the lab computers. Students choosing to learn the material on their own or take the exams at a remote location will be responsible for providing the appropriate software. We will be using SAS, Stata, Epidata & MS Access.
Course Delivery Type: Over 50% Web Delivery: A Web course is taught using one or more web delivery platforms such as Blackboard, Streaming Video, Adobe Connect etc.
Students must have access to a high-speed Internet connection. More information will be provided by the instructor in the course syllabus.
